Hi, English teachers! I’m Laura, and I’m here to help you engage your students with fun, standards-based English lessons without sacrificing your personal and family time. After teaching middle and high school English for 17 years, I know what it’s like to struggle with time when you want to create engaging ELA lessons. It’s possible for English teachers to provide their students with fun, rigorous lessons without sacrificing their personal time. When I started teaching in 2005, I was a seventh grade ELA teacher. I loved middle schoolers, and I had an awesome team of teachers. After seven years in middle school, I was transferred to my district’s high school. Since then, I have taught English 9 and 10 at all levels and American Literature. I'm also a certified library and media specialist.

My husband is a middle school history teacher. Together, we have two little boys. My Teachers Pay Teachers journey actually started after my youngest was born. I realized that I was way behind on college savings accounts for my boys, and I needed another income. I had no idea at the time that I would fall in love with designing curriculum and helping other ELA teachers.
